Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born on March 4, 1954. She is a comedian as well as an actress and writer. O'Hara has been the recipient of numerous prizes which include the Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, O'Hara was named as an Officer of Canada. She was also presented with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara first became known as an actress when she was part of The Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto in 1974. Along with John Candy (1975-1978), she was part of the primary casting in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara as well as Candy began working in Second City Television's sketch comedy series (1976-1984). O'Hara won the Primetime Emmy Award in 1981 for her outstanding writing for a Variety Series. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the newly formed Second City artistic advisory board led by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura, Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
