Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who worked as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 until 2022. A member of Democratic Party she has previously served in the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant director of communications (2009–2011) as well as the spokesperson of the United States Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a CNN political contributor from 2017 until 2020. Psaki started her professional career with an Iowa Democratic senator, Tom Harkin, and then became the governor of Iowa. Psaki then became deputy press secretary for John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. Psaki was in office from 2005 until 2006 as communications director to Joseph Crowley, U.S. representative, as well as as the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was appointed the press secretary of President Obama's 2012 presidential election campaign. [20] Psaki was named spokesperson for the United States Department of State in February 2013. [20] The speculations that she would be replacing Jay Carney White House Press secretary once he left for White House in the year 21 were fueled by her hiring by the Department of State. However, Josh Earnest was announced as the replacement for Carney on May 30th, 2014. She returned to the White House in 2015 to become the communications director. She remained with the Obama administration until its conclusion.
